25 year old Ferdinand Omanyala finished in second place with a time of 9.77 in the Kip Keino Classic Tour held in Nairobi in September. Omanyala’s win saw him break the Africa record of 9.84 that was set by South Africa’s Akane Simbine in July this year.

Omanyala officially joins the top 10 fastest sprinters on the track at 8th position

The event was attended by Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta and CS Amina Mohammed who celebrated the win with Omanyala in a jubilant show of patriotism.
