Foreign elite  athletes who will participate in the 4th  edition of the Kip Keino Classic continental tour are set to be  known  later this week .

According to the meet Director Barbara Korir , the list includes athletes who have participated in previous  3 editions of the Kip Keino classic continental tour,  as well we as those who will be taking part for the 1st  time.

This years edition will be held on 13th of next month at the Moi international sports centre Kasarani in Nairobi.

Korir disclosed that Athletics Kenya has already formed a local organising committee  and this year’s edition is set to be more exciting and entertaining.

“We have made tremendous  progress  as  we have already set up the Local organising committee that has met severally so far.

We have invited top elite athletes from both internationally and  locally  to participate in next Month’s championship  some being those who took part in previous editions of the Kip Keino classic and others  who will be competing for the 1st time”said Korir

World 100M champions Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce from Jamaica and Fred Kerley of USA ,Olympic 100M champion Marcel Jacobs of Italy are among the cream de la cream athletes who competed in last year’s  edition.

Sprints and more so, men 100M final is expected to more tantalising as commonwealth and African champion Ferdinand Omanyala will be targeting for a 2nd consecutive Kip Keino Classic title after finishing 2nd  in 2021 behind American ,Trayvin Brommel ,before stamping his authority last year when he emerged victorious  relegating Kerley to 2nd position.

This year’s event which will be open to the public ,will be 3rd in  the gold label continental  series  , after Melbourne,Australia meet in February ,and the 2nd stop which will be held in Botswana on April 29th.
